TimesCheck Highlights Misleading Coverage and Left-Wing Bias
We all know the rules are a little different when it comes time for “mainstream” media organizations to cover subject matter that involves long-standing American ideals like individual liberty and constitutionally limited government. This double-standard is particularly acute in Washington D.C., where political figures who embrace a “progressive” agenda are on the receiving end of uncritical positive coverage, while free market advocates are routinely sullied and attacked.
For over a hundred years, the New York Times has marketed itself as a straightforward, highly-detailed newspaper glued to hard facts as opposed to agenda-laced reporting. But under the present management, this original mission has been subverted, and it has become increasingly evident in recent years the nation’s paper of record too often serves as a left-wing propaganda sheet. Thanks to alternative media resources it is now possible to highlight and debunk biased reporting that does disservice to the readership and runs counter to American interests.
TimesCheck.com has been created for the benefit of readers on both sides of the political spectrum who place a premium on thorough, fact-based journalism that gives proper weight and value to opposing viewpoints. It includes analytical pieces that probe into a mix of topics that impact public policy and concern ordinary Americans.
Kevin Mooney, an investigative journalist and reporter in Washington D.C., is responsible for analyzing the daily content appearing in The New York Times for content that may be overly weighted toward a particular point of view by virtue of what is reported and what is omitted.
A journalist of longstanding, Kevin has written for Washington Examiner, CNSNews.com, the Capital Research Center (CRC), The American Spectator and BigGovernment.Com.
Kevin broke several news stories concerning border security policies, drug cartel activity and potential acts of terrorism, while working with CNSNews.com. After obtaining documents from an internal audit of Department of Homeland Security (DHS), he found that almost half of the illegal aliens that had found their way into the U.S. in recent years were from terrorist-sponsoring or “special interest” nations. He was also the first to report on the $53 million in federal funding ACORN has received since 1994, and the $8 billion that has remained on the table, despite on-going investigations.
