NYT Times Continues Aggressive Push for Gay Agenda in U.S. Military

If you come out openly and acknowledge a deviant sexual orientation in contradiction to U.S. military policy, you will earn an uncritical, highly sympathetic spread in the New York Times. Once again, any opposing viewpoints are ommitted as The Times takes aim at the U.S. military…

Without a word of concern for military readiness and unit cohesion, The New York Times continues its aggressive push for the gay agenda in the U.S. military. Here a highly sympathetic spread is given to a National Guard lieutenant in New York who is lobbying for an end to the “don’t ask, don’t tell policy,” that has been in place since the 1990s.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently testified about lifting the ban against open gay service members before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee. This would require an act of Congress, which is not likely to come anytime soon. Obviously this does not sit well with The Times.

After revealing his orientation last March on MSNBC, Lt. Dan Choi  was recommendation for dismissal but a final decision has not been made. For the first time since last April he has returned to drills with the support of his commander, according to the article.

There is no evidence that the current policy has been loosened or diluted in any way. But newspaper’s position is made clear here in the lead sentence.

“In a sign that the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy may be weakening under pressure from The White House and the Pentagon’s top leadership, Lt. Dan Choi, who is facing discharge from The New York Army National Guard because he publicly announced that he was gay, took part in a drill last weekend with his guard unit at what he said was the encouragement of his commander.”

It would be helpful to include the perspective of policy makers and military experts who are very much opposed to changing the policy. The burden should be on those who favor radical social engineering in the military at a time when the nation is at war.
